Oak Elementary wins visit from stunt pilot

Michael Goulian visited Oak Elem. Thursday, Sept. 15 to talk with the kids about flying

Mike Goulian visited Oak Elementary school as a special speaker before the air show in Millington. Gouilan is the pilot of an Edge 540 and has recently been tearing up the sky during the Red Bull Air Race.

Mom wins contest for Oak Elementary

Kix 106 held a contest that mom, Heather James, was more than happy to enter. Write a note and let the radio station know why a pilot should come to your kids school.  That was easy for James. She wanted them to see who she considered to be a hero. Not a musician or a sports star. James was referring to the Blue Angels and the many other pilots that take part in the thrilling air show that was about to take place in Millington.
Mike Goulian of Goulian Aerosports was the pilot that got the invitation. Goulian spoke to the kids about G-force, flying around the Statue of Liberty and what it is really like to fly so fast. He asked kid friendly questions and answered questions in between showing film clips of recent flights.
"I mean, we need to look at heroes differently," said James. "So I wanted the kids to see someone that me and my family might consider to be more of a hero."
Heather is the mom of Craig and Hannah James.
